There’s space out there somewhere... We live it every day, but at times the experience we have of it seems more described than lived. We describe it in Cartesian terms even though it’s not nearly so stable. It expands and contracts and bends and becomes pre or postmodern depending on how you look at it.. Whatever people may say, all points in space are not equivalent. Even modern advanced physics admits the fact.
Thus our system of representing space- and only space- with a mathematical model…and then believing in the model… creates a short circuit between what we live and what we believe we know. The description of space has changed in the past; and who knows if it might change again sometime in the future to more closely reflect what we actually experience… room (both in the sense of space and in the sense of a room created using Cartesian concepts of space) is only temporary.

Lo spazio c’è ma dove? Lo viviamo ogni giorno, ma la nostra esperienza di lui sembra quasi più raccontata che vissuta dal vivo. Descriviamo lo spazio in termini Cartesiani anche se si piega, si dilata, diventa pre o postmoderna a secondo.... Checchè se ne dice non tutti gli spazi sono equivalente, e lo dice pure la fisica più avanzata.
Dunque il nostro sistema di rapresentare lo spazio- e non solo- attraverso un modello matematico... per poi credeci... crea uno cortocircuito tra quello che viviamo e quello che crediamo di sapere. Questo racconto è cambiato in passato, e chissà se forse un giorno sarà spiazzato da un altro racconto che rispecchia più le nostre esperienze vere... room is only temporary.
